The equation would be 4y=5x       4(x+15)=5x             x+15=y

let x be the amount that Shelia deposits each time

let y represent the amount that Sherri deposits each time

4(x+15)=5x

4x+60=5x

-4x       -4x

60=x

Check:

x+15=y                  60+15=y                        y=75

4(75)=5(60)

300=300

Shelia deposits $60 each time.

To find the box to the top left, we can multiple the sides like rectangles. To find the top left box, we can multiply -1 and 0.5y to get -0.5y.

To find the box on the bottom right, we can multiply the sides like rectangles again. To find the bottom right box, we can multiply 24x and 3 to get 72x.

Brittany and Natalie, start cycling together from their home to school, which is 14.4 miles away. Natalie takes 40 minutes to re
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

7.2

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Natalie needed 40 minutes to get to school. In hours 40 minutes is 40/60= 2/3 hour (because there are 60 minutes in an hour). so her speed is 14.4/(2/3)= 14.4*3/2= 21.6 mph.

2. Britany needed 40+20= 60 min. 60 min= 1 hour. so she needed 1 hour her speed is 14,4/1= 14.4mph

3. The difference 21.6-14.4=7.2 is the answer .

Answer:

<em>4 white horses.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you need to find the total of the first set of horses (basically how many total were in the table).

<em>~ 3+2+9+1 = 15</em>

Next we need to find how many horses were white horses out of these 15 horses. In short the proportion would be White Horses/Total Horses.

<em>~  </em>\frac{3}{15}<em> (or  </em>\frac{1}{5}<em>, simplified)</em>

Now, all we need to do is create the proportion with 20 as the denominator (in this case, 20 will be the total horses, and we just need to find <em>X</em>, or how many horses are expected to be white out of all of those horses). The proportion will look somewhat like this:

~  \frac{1}{5} = \frac{x}{20}

The final step is to multiply across (1x20) then divide that number by the 5 to find <em>X</em>.

<em>~ 20÷5 = 4</em>

Anyways, that means it would be expected to have <em>4</em> white horses out of 20 total. Hope this helped ^-^
