The process of sexual reproduction involves two parents, each contributing one gamete (and different types of genetic information, in shape of DNA). Gametes are produced by a process, called meiosis, which starts by the duplication of the chromosomes, followed by two rounds of cell divisions and halving of the chromosome number. Gametes have half the chromosome number of other adult cells of an organism. When two gametes merge, zygote is created.

A key feature of meiosis is the exchange of chromosome pieces which occurs in the first division of this process, called recombination or crossing over. Recombination is a very important source of genetic variation between individuals of sexually reproducing species, and the driving force for the process of natural selection.

How does distance affect work pls quick its 15 points pls keep it short pls help!!!!
ra1l [238]
The simple equation used to calculate work is force multiplied by distance, thus as this is the case increasing the distance by a certain amount, assuming the force applied to the object is constant, the amount of work you are doing on the box for instance pushing it, is going to be greater

Since you are pushing the box with the same force covering a greater distance with the force.

How many total electrons does the P^3- ion have? O a. 3 O b. 31 O c.1 O d. 15 O e. 18
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

e. 18

Explanation:

A neutral P atom has an atomic number of 15, which means there are 15 protons in the atom. In order to be neutral, the P atom must also have 15 electrons.

The P³⁻ anion has 3 electrons more than the neutral P atom since it has a charge of -3.

Thus, the total number of electrons are 15 + 3 = 18 electrons.
