Answer:

The total price of the groceries, including discount and tip is $110.4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the bill amount of groceries   = $120

Now, the coupon off  = 20%

Calculating the discount, we get

20% of bill amount $120  =   20% of 120  = \frac{20}{100}  \times 120  = 24

So, the 20% discount on the bill amount = $24

The actual payable amount = Bill Amount  - Discount

                                                =  $120 - $24  = $96

Now, 15% tip is also applied on the actual payable amount $96.

15% of 96 = \frac{15}{100}  \times 96  = 14.4

So, the total price t  = Payable amount + Tip amount

                                 = $96 +  $14.4   =  $110.4

or, t = $110.4

Hence, the total price of the groceries, including the discount and the tip  is  t = $110.4.

This hyperbola is centered at theorigin. Find its equation.Foci: (-2,0) and (2,0)Vertices: (-1,0) and (1,0)
beks73 [17]

SOLUTION

From the question, the center of the hyperbola is

\begin{gathered} (h,k),\text{ which is } \\ (0,0) \end{gathered}

a is the distance between the center to vertex, which is -1 or 1, and

c is the distance between the center to foci, which is -2 or 2.

b is given as

\begin{gathered} b^2=c^2-a^2 \\ b^2=2^2-1^2 \\ b=\sqrt[]{3} \end{gathered}

But equation of a hyperbola is given as

\frac{(x-h)^2}{a^2}-\frac{(y-k)^2}{b^2}=1

Substituting the values of a, b, h and k, we have

\begin{gathered} \frac{(x-0)^2}{1^2}-\frac{(y-0)^2}{\sqrt[]{3}^2}=1 \\ \frac{x^2}{1}-\frac{y^2}{3}=1 \end{gathered}

Hence the answer is

\frac{x^2}{1}-\frac{y^2}{3}=1

Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

-x^5 - 7x^4 + x^2 + (1/8)x - 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Rewrite the given -9+1/8x-7x^4+x^2-x^5 in descending order of the variable x:

-9+1/8x

-x^5 - 7x^4 + x^2 + (1/8)x - 9
