Parallel structure is the repetition of a grammatical pattern.

Romeo Montague is the embodiment of...

  1. romantic idealism, passionate intensity, and adolescent rebellion. Extract the core words to get "idealism, intensity, rebellion". This list follows the pattern "noun, noun, noun".
  2. romance, passionately intense and raging with adolescent rebellion. Extract the core words to get "romance, intense, raging". This list follows the pattern "noun, adjective, verb".
  3. romantic idealism, passionate, intensity, and adolescent rebelling. Extract the core words to get "idealism, passionate, intensity, rebelling". This list follows the pattern "noun, adjective, noun, verb".
  4. romance and idealism - passionate, intense, an adolescent rebel. Extract the core words to get "passionate, intense, a rebel". This follows the pattern "adjective, adjective, noun".

Only the first choice repeats a grammatical pattern. Therefore the correct answer is Choice A.

When children begin to read, they are comprehending decontextualized language. true or false
kotykmax [81]

TRUE

When children begin to read, they are comprehending decontextualized language. The above statement is true

What is decontextualized language?

Decontextualized (“dxt”) language is defined as "language that is removed from the here-and-now. Examples of this kind of decontextualized language use are evident in early conversations between parents and children, particularly in uses of extended discourse such as explanations, narratives and pretend play."

Decontextualized language develops during children's third year, and is used to construct narratives about past or future events (e.g. “We went to the park”), provide explanations (e.g. “I got my sweater because I'm cold”), or engage in pretend play (e.g. “My teddy bear is hungry”)

What does it mean to be apart of a community? What does it mean to be apart of a family?
DedPeter [7]
First of all, I think you mean "a part". To be "a part of a community" means that you are a member of a social group or circle. To be "a part of a family" means you are a member of a family. However, when you do not include the space between "a" and "part" and simply use the word "apart" the meaning is changed and the sentence is grammatically incorrect. The word "apart" implies that you ARE NOT a part of whatever you are talking about. However, if you want to say that you are "APART" and that is the word you mean, you would say "APART FROM a community" or "APART FROM a family" meaning you are different than the community/family.
I hope this makes sense!
