Answer:

4Joules

Step-by-step explanation:

According to Hooke's law which states that extension of an elastic material is directly proportional to the applied force provide that the elastic limit is not exceeded. Mathematically,

F = ke where

F is the applied force

K is the elastic constant

e is the extension

If a spring exerts a force of 6 N when stretched 3 m beyond its natural length, its elastic constant 'k'

can be gotten using k = f/e where

F = 6N, e = 3m

K = 6N/3m

K = 2N/m

Work done on an elastic string is calculated using 1/2ke².

If the spring is stretched 2 m beyond its natural length, the work done on the spring will be;

1/2× 2× (2)²

= 4Joules

Answer:

#1

<u>Sum of interior angles is 180:</u>

  • y = 180 - (42 + 31) = 107

<u>The law of sines:</u>

  • x / sin 107 = 11 / sin 42
  • x = 11 sin 107deg / sin 42deg
  • x = 15.72

#2

<u>The law of cosines:</u>

  • cos 76  = (6² + 17² - x² )/2(6)(17)
  • 204*0.24 = 325 - x²
  • x² = 325 - 48.96
  • x² = 276.04
  • x = √276.04
  • x = 16.61

#3

<u>Same as above:</u>

  • 2*9.4*10*cos 20 = (10² + 9.4² - x²)
  • 176.66 = 188.36 - x²
  • x² = 188.36 - 176.66
  • x² = 11.7
  • x = √11.7
  • x = 3.42

#4

<u>Sum of interior angles is 180:</u>

  • y = 180 - (52 + 94) = 34

<u>The law of sines:</u>

  • x / sin 34 = 15 / sin 94
  • x = 15 sin 34  / sin 94
  • x = 8.41

Find the derivative of f(x) = 3/x at x = 1
aniked [119]

Answer:

- 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Differentiate f(x) using the power rule

\frac{d}{dx}(ax^{n} ) = nax^{n-1}

Given f(x) = \frac{3}{x} = 3x^{-1}, then

f'(x) = - 3x^{-2} = - \frac{3}{x^2}

f'(1) = - \frac{3}{1} = - 3

The formula for the area of a triangle is A = 12
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

64

Step-by-step explanation:

So I think you mean area is 1/2(bh) meaning half of the base times height so the height is 4 and the base is 32 so you can half either the base or the height to get 2x32=64 or 4x16=64 which are the same.

So 64 will be the area of a triangle

(tip: think of a triangle like that as half of a rectangle)
