Africa is diverse in it's inhabitants, history both political and social, and geography.
The continent is massive and covers all four hemispheres.
As the site of the "birthplace of humanity", and many of the world's treasured minerals occur here, Africa provides economic opportunity found in few other places.
Northern Africa has rich landscape in the Fertile Crescent of Earth,
the Sahara is historically the home of many now endangered animals.
England, France, Spain, and most other developed nations have colonized Africa in some way, including the United States, in it's own unique way. (See: The Poisonwood Bible)
Tribal and foreign languages are equally common, as colonization and immigration are wide-spread.
Geographically, the "borders" within Africa are arbitrary and have lead to Tribal conflict, perpetuating the notion that African tribes are barbaric, savagely, or lesser humans. These borders were imposed by immigrants from Europe.
Trade and commerce in Africa keeps economy growing, but only in ways that benefit more-developed countries.
1) language- I think that language would survive, as languages are mostly transmitted verbally
2) I also think that writing would survive, as people would self-organize to teach children writing - they could for example carve messages in the wood for each other
3) As far as I can tell - all other aspects of culture (movies, books, how we interact ) is based on the assumption that we have access to our technology, so I don't think it would survive.
