-4,2 I believe

The x-axis is the horizontal line, which reflects up and down.
The coordinate (-4,-2) is in the bottom left section of the graph, when it reflects over the x-axis it will be in the top left. Which is -x,+y.
That proves my answer of -4,2

Sarah buys 4 first class tickets ad 9 coach tickets For the trip.

Equation

Equation is an expression which is used to show the relationship between two or more variables and numbers.

Let x represent the number of first class ticket and y represent the boxes of coach tickets

Sarah a total of 13 people took the trip. Hence:

  • x + y = 13   (1)

She used her total budget which was $10,970. Hence:

  • 380x - 1050y = 10970    (2)

Solving equations 1 and 2 simultaneously gives:

x = 4, y = 9

Sarah buys 4 first class tickets ad 9 coach tickets For the trip.

What is the directrix of the parabola defined by 1/4(y 3)=(x-2)^2?
attashe74 [19]
For
(x-h)^2=4p(y-k)
vertex=(h,k)
p=vertical distance from vertex to directix
when p is negative, the directix is above the vertex
when p is positive, the directix is below the vertex

(x-2)^2=1/4(y+3)
(x-2)^2=4(1/16)(y+3)
p=1/16
it's positive so we know directix is below vertex
vertex is (2,-3)
go 1/16 down
-3-1/16=-48/16-1/16=-49/16
directix is y=-49/16 aka y=-3.0625
