Tony drank 1/3 of a cup of water in the morning.

Tony drank 3/5 of a cup of water in the afternoon.

You need to find out how much water did he drink it all so we need to add 3/5 with 1/3.

3/5 + 1/3 =

$\frac{1 x 5}{3 x 5} + \frac{3 x 3}{5 x 3} =$

= 5/15 + 9/15

= $\frac{5 + 9}{15}$

The answer is 14/15
