Answer:

x = 19, 17

Step-by-step explanation:

(x-18)(x-18)=1

x^2 - 36x + 324=1

x^2 - 36x = -323

x^2 - 36x + 323 = 1

(x-19)(x-17) = 0

x = 19, 17

Answer: x = 17,19

Step-by-step explanation:

<h2>Method 1: Solve by Equations</h2>

The most common method, so...

(x-18)^2=1

x^2-2x(18)+18^2=1

x^2-36x+324=1

Move 1 to the left.

x^2-36x+324-1=0\\x^2-36x+323=0

(x-17)(x-19)=0\\x=17,19

The value of x are 17 and 19.

<h2>Method 2: Solve by Graphing</h2>

I don't recommend this method since you might be bad at graphing (You must be perfect at graphing)

So given (x-18)^2=1

Move 1 to the left

(x-18)^2-1=0

Change 0 to y

y=(x-18)^2-1 The vertex is at (18,-1)

Draw the graph (Parabola)

When you finish drawing the graph, x-intercepts should be around 17 and 19

x-intercepts are the value of x so if x-intercepts are at (17,0) and (19,0) then the value of x are both 17 and 19

Answer:

No for the first one, yes for the second.

Step-by-step explanation:

Plug in the given numbers and see if it works.

15(1) + 3(4) = 10

15 + 12 = 10.

27 ≠ 10

Since 27 does not equal 10, we can already see that solution (1,4) will not work for these equations.

Now for the second problem, do the same thing.

10 = 1 + 9.

This is true, but remember to check the second equation just to be sure.

10 = 4(1) + 6

10 = 4 + 6

This is also true, so it (1,10) is a solution for the second system of equations.

Can someone help me on the last question?
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

I like saying rise over run because it helps me remember that rise means how many units you move up or down from point to point which on a graph would be a change in the y values. Also that run means how far left or right you move from point to point which on the graph would mean a change of x values.

Caitlin Grasso is a salesperson in the kitchen and bath department at Morris Supplies, Inc. She is guaranteed a minimum salary o
OLEGan [10]
Well, from those 560, 200 are from her salary, and the rest is commissions from sales, so.... 360 is the 5.5% she's got, now, if we take "x" to be the 100% for the sales, then

\bf \begin{array}{ccllll}&#10;amount&\%\\&#10;\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\&#10;360&5.5\\&#10;x&100&#10;\end{array}\implies \cfrac{300}{x}=\cfrac{5.5}{100}

solve for "x".
