There students Matthew,Thomson and Amos shared 15000 in the ratio 5:2:x respectively.If Matthew's share is 7500 calculate the va
Verdich [7]

Answer:

x= 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Ratio= 5:2:x

Combined ratio= 5+2+x

                        = 7+x

Total amount of money= $15000

Let us apply the part to all method

Hence for Matthew whose share = $7500

5/7+x=  7500/15000

Cross multiply we have

7500*(7+x)= 15000*5

52500+7500x= 75000

Collect like terms we have

7500x= 75000-52500

7500x=22500

x= 22500/7500

x=3

Hence the value of x= 3
