Answer: DORSIFLEXION

EXPLANATION:

There are about six classic movements of the foot. They include:

1. Dorsal flexion (dorsiflexion)

Flexion movement of the ankle that results in the top of the foot moving toward the anterior tibia in the sagittal plane.

This movement is achieved by the muscles in the anterior compartment of the leg.

2. Plantar flexion

Extension movement of the ankle that results in the foot and/or toes moving away from the body in the sagittal plane.

3. Eversion

Turning the sole of the foot outward or laterally in the frontal plane; abduction

Ex: weight on inner edge of foot.

4. Inversion

Turning the sole of the foot inward or medially in the frontal plane; adduction

Ex: weight on outer edge of foot.

5. Pronation

A position of the foot and ankle resulting form a combination of ankle dorsiflexion, subtalar eversion, and forefoot abduction (toe-out).

6. Supination

A position of the foot and ankle resulting from a combination of ankle plantar flexion, subtalar inversion, and forefoot adduction (toe-in).

Describe in good english how the muscles in your upper arm lift the lower arm
aleksklad [387]

Muscles are in pairs called "antagonistic muscles." Let's take the human elbow joint as an example from the diagram. The elbow joint has 2 muscles; triceps and biceps. These 2 muscles help raise your forearm up or down. In the diagram, it shows an arrow going up which represents that your forearm is being raised. To raise, your biceps contract and your triceps relax. Its the opposite when you lower yopur forearm. To lower, your biceps relax and your triceps contract.

Best of Luck!

Explain why multicellular organisms require a ventilation system??
Anuta_ua [19.1K]
Ventilation maintains a steep concentration gradient, blood at the exchange surface usually has lower O2 and higher CO2 content than the air (of for fish, the water) at the exchange surface. This is what allows for diffusion of O2 into the blood and CO2 out of the blood. Multicellular organisms have a greater number of cells so will have a higher energy demand than single cellular organisms, this demand can only be met by allowing the cells to respire, a ventilation system brings oxygen molecules which are a raw product of respiration into the hemoglobin of the blood to be transported to tissues. As surface area : volume ratio is very low so if there was no ventilation system and the organism instead relied on exchange of materials through the exposed skin it would be very difficult to met the high energy demand as less O2 and CO2 would be able to be exchanged.
