How do oxygen and carbon dioxide cross capillary walls?

Biology

The answer is diffusion.

The most important mechanism that enables oxygen and carbon dioxide (but as well other small molecules such as glucose, amino acids, wastes) across capillary walls is diffusion. Diffusion is a net movement of molecules through some barrier from an area of high concentration to the area of low concentration. When blood rich in oxygen reaches capillaries close to the cell, now there is more oxygen in the capillaries than in the cells and by diffusion, oxygen will pass capillary walls and enter the cell. Since blood in capillaries lacks in carbon dioxide, it will easily leave the cells and enter the blood. It should be taken into consideration that capillary walls may be fenestrated, continuous, and discontinuous which can affect movement through them.

You cross two red griffins with blue eyes and produce offspring that are: red with blue eyes, red with green eyes, white with bl
sergejj [24]

Answer:

The reason for the offspring to present these genotypes is that during the formation of the gametes, the alleles separate and are inherited independently, therefore they can generate several different phenotypic combinations.

Explanation:

In order for an offspring to present very different phenotypes, as shown in the question above, it is necessary that the two red griffins with blue eyes that were crossed are heterozygous. Thus it will be possible for the offspring to present a wide variety of phenotype, according to Mendel's second law.

Mendel's second law is called the Law of segregation. This law explains that the alleles (which determine the characteristics of individuals) are separated in the formation of gametes and inherited by the offspring of a cross independently, and can generate different combinations of phenotypes, when the parents of a cross are heterozygous.

Which of these is an example of chemoprevention?
expeople1 [14]

Answer: A. Research into a phytochemical from a plant which might inhibit cancer development.

Explanation:

The chemoprevention is a process of utilization of chemical formulations such as medication, supplements and vitamins to the stop the growth of cancer cells. This is necessary and important for people which are at high risk of developing cancer.

The research for the phytochemical derived from the plants can be an example of chemoprevention as this will help in inhibiting the cancer development.
