Perform online or offline research to learn more about the social movements in the United States. Write a note on any one social
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer: Social movements are purposeful, organized groups striving to work toward a common goal. These groups might be attempting to create change (Occupy Wall Street, Arab Spring), to resist change (anti-globalization movement), or to provide a political voice to those otherwise disenfranchised (civil rights movements). Social movements create social change.Consider the effect of the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. This disaster exemplifies how a change in the environment, coupled with the use of technology to fix that change, combined with anti-oil sentiment in social movements and social institutions, led to changes in offshore oil drilling policies. Subsequently, in an effort to support the Gulf Coast’s rebuilding efforts, changes occurred. From grassroots marketing campaigns that promote consumption of local seafood to municipal governments needing to coordinate with federal cleanups, organizations develop and shift to meet the changing needs of the society. Just as we saw with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, social movements have, throughout history, influenced societal shifts. Sociology looks at these moments through the lenses of three major perspectives.

ARGUMENT Write a dialogue between two people in Nebraska who are expressing their views on the issue of popular sovereignty. Hav
andriy [413]

Answer:PRO-Yes, this is a great idea...

OPPOSE- No people will make wrong decisions and then our economy will fall apart because people will get greedy.

PRO- You don't know that, let the people show what they got in store instead of accusing them right away.... That could happen, but people care about where they live.

OPPOSE-I am telling you letting people have a choice with the government you need just a few people with good heads to govern the area is a better than everyone.

PRO- But....

OPPOSE-But no.... Think of the classes. If you have rich people and poor people trying to get along deciding what is better than what it is just chaos waiting to happen.

PRO-You should give people a chance, I believe there is good in everyone and that poor or rich they can come to a decision together and we can govern ourselves and all live in harmony for centuries to come.

OPPOSE-Wake up to reality!!! There are stupid and bad and greedy people in the world not everything is good so you need to realize that not everyone is perfect and going to live up to that expectation.SO get over it...

What do maps made by early British settlers tell us about early colonies?
barxatty [35]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached, we can say the following.

Maps made by early British settlers tell us the geographical formation of early colonies as well as the roads, rivers, regions, Native American Indians territories, and white colonists settings. Many early colonists were not cartographers, so it was not easy for them to portrait the right information in the clearest way. There were even prior maps made by European cartographers that only draw the maps following the information given by explorers. This was a more ambitious project because cartographers did know the places they were drawing on the map.
