Answer:(B) decrease protein production

Explanation: nitrogen gas in the atmosphere is the source of nitrogen which is useful to plants.

In the nitrogen cycle, nitrogen gas is converted to it's compounds and then back to it's gas form.

The nitrogenous cycle involves fixation, mineralization, nitrification and denitrification .

In the first three states, nitrogen undergoes changes into a state where it can be absorbed by plants.

In denitrification, nitrates (useful form of nitrogen) are converted into gaseous nitrogen.organisms involved in this process are called denitrifying bacteria eg Pseudomonads sp.

Nitrogen is an important element.

It is useful for the production of protein, DNA, RNA and chlorophyll.

When it is deficient in the soil,it affects the synthesis of proteins and yellowing of leaves due to decrease in chlorophyll

Answer:

(B) decrease protein production

Explanation:

Plants need nitrogen for their growth and development. This is because in addition to needing nitrogen for the production of nucleic acids, the plant needs nitrogen for the production of proteins that will be fundamental in all the functions of the plant's metabolism. However, plants cannot absorb nitrogen and nitrogen-fixing bacteria need to convert nitrogen into assimilable NH4 form. Before, nitrogen is converted into nitrite and nitrate, but plants only absorb NH4. For this reason, if the bacteria convert nitrate to nitrogen, the conversion process to NH4 would be interrupted and the production of proteins in plants would decrease due to nitrogen deficiency.

What are neurotransmitters? What neurotransmitters are associated with depression? Schizophrenia? Pain reduction? Parkinson’s di
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

Neurotransmitters are endogenous chemicals that are released by axon terminals of neurons into the synaptic junctions and act locally to control nerve cell functions.

•Imbalance of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine have been linked with depression.

•Abnormal levels of neurotransmitter glutamate leads to changes in the level of Dopamine which can cause transition into psychosis.Dopamine has been implicated as possible cause of schizophrenia.

•Several transmitters are involved in analgesia system (pain suppression),especially involved are enkephalin and serotonin. When Serotonin are released and this causes local cord neurons ti secrete enkephalin, which is believed to cause both presynaptic and postsynaptic inhibition of pain fibres.

•Parkinson's disease also known as paralysis agitans results from widespread destruction of that portion of substantia nigra that sends dopamine-secreting nerve fibres to caudate nucleus and putamen this leads to decrease in dopamine.

•Acetylcholine is responsible brain arousal and muscle contraction.
