       x + y = 100

0.10x + 0.45 y =25

eliminate

x + y = 100
x  + 4.5 y = 250

-3.5 y = -150
y = 42.85
x = 57.15

hope this helps

Answer:

V_{1}=57.15\\C_{1}=10%

V_{2}=42.85\\C_{2}=45%

One should use 57.15 galons of 10% solution with 42.85 galons of 45% solution.

Explanation:

C_{1} *V_{1} =C_{2} *V_{2}

V_{1}}+{V_{2}}=100={V_{3}}

C_{3}=25%

{C_{2} =4.5{C_{1}}=45%

C_{3} *V_{3} =C_{2} *V_{2} +C_{1} *V_{1}

C_{3} =\frac{C_{2} *V_{2} +C_{1} *V_{1}}{V_{3}}

C_{3} =\frac{4.5C_{1}(\frac{V_{1}}{4.5} +V_{2})}{V_{3}}

\frac{C_{3}*{V_{3}}}{4.5C_{1}}=\frac{V_{1}}{4.5} +V_{2}

\frac{C_{3}*{V_{3}}}{4.5C_{1}}=55.55555=\frac{V_{1}}{4.5} +V_{2}

V_{2}=100-V_{1}

55.55555=\frac{V_{1}}{4.5} +100-V_{1}\\44.4444=V_{1}-\frac{V_{1}}{4.5}\\3.5V_{1}=200\\V_{1}=57.15V_{2}=42.85

Which is the most important factor in determining the state of a substance?
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

The balance between intermolecular forces and kinetic energy

Explanation:

If the kinetic energies of the particles are not strong enough to overcome the intermolecular forces, the particles will be locked in place in a crystal lattice. The substance will be a solid.

If the kinetic energies of the particles are slightly stronger than the intermolecular forces, the particles will be able to slide past each other. The substance will be a liquid.

If the kinetic energies of the particles are much stronger than the intermolecular forces, the particles will be escape completely from the attractions of their neighbours. The substance will be a gas.

Please define the following terms in terms of Chemistry:
slavikrds [6]

A physical property is any property that is measurable whose value describes a state of a physical system.A chemical property is any of a material's properties that becomes evident during, or after, a chemical reaction; that is, any quality that can be established only by changing a substance's chemical identity.Isotopes are variants of a particular chemical element which differ in neutron number, although all isotopes of a given element have the same number of protons in each atom.The periodic table is a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements, ordered by their atomic number (number of protons), electron configurations, and recurring chemical properties. A period is the name given to a horizontal row of the periodic table.a group is a column of elements in the periodic table of the chemical elements.
