D. Is the false statement. Clearly, the rectangle was shifted and is no long in its same position

False statement:
D) The rectangle retained its same position on the coordinate plane.

Rotations preserve length and angle measures. The only thing that changed about the rectangle is its position. The rectangle was not dilated, so it's side lengths remain the same. All rectangles have parallel opposite sides and 90° angles, so those two wouldn't change no matter which transformation was applied.

A bicycle training wheel has a radius of 3 inches. The bicycle wheel has a radius of 10 inches. Approximately how much smaller,
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

285.74\text{ inch}^2

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN: A bicycle training wheel has a radius of 3\text{ inch}. The bicycle wheel has a radius of 10\text{ inch}.

TO FIND: Approximately how much smaller, in square inches, is the area of the training wheel than the area of the regular wheel.

SOLUTION:

radius of bicycle wheel =10\text{ inch}

area of bicycle wheel =\pi r^2

putting value,

area of bicycle wheel =3.14\times10^2

                                    =314\text{ inch}^2

radius of bicycle training wheel =3\text{ inch}

area of bicycle training wheel =\pi r^2

putting value,

area of bicycle wheel =3.14\times3^2

                                    =28.26\text{ inch}^2

difference in area of bicycle wheel and bicycle training wheel

=\text{area of bicycle wheel}-\text{area of bicycle training wheel}

=314-28.26

=285.74\text{ inch}^2

hence the training wheel is 285.74\text{ inch}^2 smaller than regular wheel

Carmen has 1/6 of a loaf pumpkin bread. She cuts the loaf into six equal pieces and gives one piece to each of her six friends.
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

each friend gets 1/36 of the loaf of pumpkin bread

Step-by-step explanation:

1/6 of a loaf

1/6 divided by 6

turn 6 into a fraction → 6/1

1/6 ÷6/1

to divide multiply the reciprocal 6/1 → 1/6

1/6 x 1/6 = 1/36

each friend get 1/36

OR

6/x = 1/6

x= 36

6/36
