Answer:

So, your answers are. Cone 1 =47.12 Cone 2 = 75.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Simply, just find the equation for the volume of a cone, then multiply with what  is needed. The equation is Volume= pi x radius ^2 x height divided by 3.

14.       1.5, 10    <- Answer
15.       5,1          <- Answer

Proof 14

Solve the following system:
{2 x - y = -7 | (equation 1)
4 x - y = -4 | (equation 2)
Swap equation 1 with equation 2:
{4 x - y = -4 | (equation 1)
2 x - y = -7 | (equation 2)
Subtract 1/2 × (equation 1) from equation 2:
{4 x - y = -4 | (equation 1)
0 x - y/2 = -5 | (equation 2)
Multiply equation 2 by -2:
{4 x - y = -4 | (equation 1)
0 x+y = 10 | (equation 2)
Add equation 2 to equation 1:
{4 x+0 y = 6 | (equation 1)
0 x+y = 10 | (equation 2)
Divide equation 1 by 4:
{x+0 y = 3/2 | (equation 1)
0 x+y = 10 | (equation 2)
Collect results:
Answer: {x = 1.5
                y = 10

Proof 15.

Solve the following system:
{5 x + 7 y = 32 | (equation 1)
8 x + 6 y = 46 | (equation 2)
Swap equation 1 with equation 2:
{8 x + 6 y = 46 | (equation 1)
5 x + 7 y = 32 | (equation 2)
Subtract 5/8 × (equation 1) from equation 2:{8 x + 6 y = 46 | (equation 1)
0 x+(13 y)/4 = 13/4 | (equation 2)
Divide equation 1 by 2:
{4 x + 3 y = 23 | (equation 1)
0 x+(13 y)/4 = 13/4 | (equation 2)
Multiply equation 2 by 4/13:
{4 x + 3 y = 23 | (equation 1)
0 x+y = 1 | (equation 2)
Subtract 3 × (equation 2) from equation 1:
{4 x+0 y = 20 | (equation 1)
0 x+y = 1 | (equation 2)
Divide equation 1 by 4:
{x+0 y = 5 | (equation 1)
0 x+y = 1 | (equation 2)
Collect results:

Find the exact roots of the polynomial; write the roots in simplest radical form, if necessary.
Liula [17]
I can see that 2 is a root but not 1?  So I tried -1 by substitution and that works.

So to work out the 3rd root we just use the sum and product of roots theorem.

We have the sum of the roots  = 11/7 and from there the third root is 4/7

A manager wishes to determine the relationship between the number of miles traveled (in hundreds of miles) by her sales repres
kati45 [8]

Answer:

y=3.53 x +37.92

And for 0 miles if we use the model we got:

y(0)= 3.53*0 +37.92 = 37.92

But for this case. No is not reasonable for a representative to travel o miles and have a positive amount of sales.

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we assume the following data:

Miles traveled (X): 2,3,10,7,8,15,3,1,11

Sales (Y): 31,33,78,62,65,61,48,55,120

We want to found a linear model like this one : y = mx+b. Where:

m=\frac{S_{xy}}{S_{xx}}

Where:

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}

With these we can find the sums:

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}=582-\frac{60^2}{9}=182

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}=4329-\frac{60*553}{9}=642.33

And the slope would be:

m=\frac{642.33}{182}=3.529

Nowe we can find the means for x and y like this:

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}=\frac{60}{9}=6.667

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}=\frac{553}{9}=61.444

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x=61.444-(3.529*6.667)=37.917

So the line would be given by:

y=3.53 x +37.92

And for 0 miles if we use the model we got:

y(0)= 3.53*0 +37.92 = 37.92

But for this case. No is not reasonable for a representative to travel o miles and have a positive amount of sales.
