Why did the minoans and mycenaeans depend on trade (1 point)

History
2 answers:

The Minoans and The Mycenaean lived around Crete, Aegean and Mediterranean settlements in ancient Greece; Minoans are believed to be the mysterious Atlantis.

Living at the crossroads of 3 continents made them experts at trading, bringing them wealth, since the conditions of their soil was not the optimal to cover all their expectations.

So trading by sea became the keystone of their success and prosperity, exchanging food, art, pottery and any valuable item, and they imported most food from other countries.

Which of the following statements best describes the impact of the scandals of the Grant administration?
worty [1.4K]

Correct answer:  B) Voters lost faith in the Republican Party’s handling of Reconstruction.

Grant had granted positions in his administration to people he thought he could rely on, rather than choosing them based on their merits and qualifications.  The poor governance and scandals included members of his cabinet as well as other government agencies.  There is no relationship to the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, as that project was nearly complete already when Grant took office as president.  (His presidential term began March 4, 1869.  The Transcontinental Railroad was completed May 10, 1869.)

Reform movements began to appear in response to the corruption in the Grant administration, not only in the Democratic Party, but also among Republicans.  The Liberal Republicans were a faction that split from Republican Party in 1872, to oppose the reelection of Grant.

o-na [289]

The reader can infer that malcolm X had an overwhelming desire to learn

The phrase  “You couldn’t have gotten me out of books with a wedge,” was written by Malcolm X when he's describing his experience in prison.

He wrote that he basically spent all of his time in prison by reading a book. He read books on library, during breaks , and  on his bunks. He believed that even if other people threaten to beat him with a wedge if he does not stop reading the book, he'd still choose to read.
