A teacher instructs students to write an argumentative essay about "The Most Dangerous Game.” Read the claim and reason one stud

ent writes and then answer the question. Claim: Rainsford needs to learn sensitivity for other beings. Reason: He is conceited and considers himself superior than others. Which quote from the story is the best evidence to support the student’s reason? “We should have some good hunting up the Amazon. Great sport, hunting." “The world is made up of two classes—the hunters and the huntees. Luckily, you and I are the hunters.” "Pure imagination," said Rainsford. "One superstitious sailor can taint the whole ship's company with his fear." "It's so dark," he thought, "that I could sleep without closing my eyes; the night would be my eyelids—"

“The world is made up of two classes—the hunters and the huntees. Luckily, you and I are the hunters.”

Note the two classes. Obviously the hunters are more superior than the prey (huntees). He also states that they are the hunters, which means he is showing himself more superior than others.

hope this helps

Answer:

“The world is made up of two classes—the hunters and the huntees. Luckily, you and I are the hunters.”

Explanation:

This is the quote that best supports the student's claim. The student tells us that Rainsford considers himself superior to other beings and that he lacks sensitivity. This is proven when we read the quote. Rainsford sees the world as made up of two classes of beings, and he does not see a problem with one of this classes (<em>the hunters</em>) dominating, abusing and killing the other class (<em>the huntees</em>). This shows he considers himself superior to other beings.

Which inference can the reader make about the continuing public fascination for President Lincoln? A Lincoln's reputation oversh
Serga [27]

Answer:

B.

Explanation:

The continuing fascination for President Lincoln suggests that he embodies a heroic example of a 'common man of the people.' President Abraham Lincoln was the 14th President of the United States and mainly worked for the cause of common people.

In his presidency, he ended the slavery, ensured preservation of the Union, and did many things for the common people. The reason President Lincoln is a continuing public fascination is because he became a heroic example of a common man of the people.

Therefore, option  B is correct.

Read the excerpt from Jackie Robinson’s letter to President Eisenhower.
svp [43]

Answer: A) oppression and segregation imposed upon African Americans.

Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the US. He was also involved in the Civil Rights Movement and was an advocate for integration.

In this letter, Robinson addresses the "treatment" he and others have experienced. Although he does not explain what the treatment is in this section, it is reasonable to assume that he is referring to the discrimination and oppression imposed upon African Americans. The other options are events that are too specific or recent, while Jackie states that the treatment has been going on for years.
