Recordemos que el partido Movimiento Nacionalista Revolucionario surgió una vez que terminó el conflicto armado entre Bolivia y Paraguay en 1935. Después de esta guerra llamada la Guerra del Chaco, brotan desde lo profundo de la sociedad Boliviana movimientos de restauración nacionalista que hacen énfasis en la importancia de lo "hecho en Bolivia." El MNR surge de esa alianza entre la clase media y los sectores más necesitados de la población, con la esperanza de combatir los intereses burgueses y exaltar los valores históricos, económicos, comerciales, y culturales, que representan la esencia del país.
