Canada has great British and French influences, depending on the place where you are, Quebec is a city whose official language is French, its culture is French, and is considered the fourth most populated by French speakers on earth, after Paris, and two more, there are police officers to ensure that French is spoken in institutions and that French traditions are respected; then we have cities like Nova Scotia, British Columbia that have a distinctly English influence, from their language to their culture and traditions, Canada is a very multicultural country but its British and French roots are very deep inside their citizens.

The Romans had trouble ruling Britain because it was so far away from Rome, and it was extremely uncivilized and the inhabitants brutal savages. They constantly fought each other in Bloody battles, were filthy and ragged, and completely barbaric. Many tribal peoples were kind, or civilized but the Saxons, the Angles and the Jutes were absolutely Barbaric. Being away from home and Roman comforts like bathhouses, running water, sewage systems, fine silks, slaves, and women that didn't smell like B.O. and actually combed their hair made it incredibly hard for soldiers to stay their, and greatly weakened moral. Also, the tribes were wild and unpredictable, and fought foreign rule tooth and nail.
