When you say "at the same ratio", you mean that you consume the same amount of gas for the same amount of miles.

We know that everytime you drive 75 miles, you use 3 gallons of gas.

Since 12 gallons of gas is four times 3 gallons of gas, if the ratio remains the same, you can drive four times the distance:

You drive 75 miles, and use 3 gallons.

You drive 75 more miles (so you are at 75+75 = 150 miles) and use 3 more gallons, so you use 3+3 = 6 gallons.

You drive 75 more miles (so you are at 150+75 = 225 miles) and use 3 more gallons, so you use 6+3 = 9 gallons.

You drive 75 more miles (so you are at 225+75 = 300 miles) and use 3 more gallons, so you use 9+3 = 12 gallons, and you're done.

What are the corresponding steps used to find the product of (2x + 1)(x + 1)?
Margarita [4]

Answer:

(2 x +1) ( x + 1)  = 2 x² + 3 x + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The steops used to find the product of (2 x + 1) (x + 1) are

 =( 2 x )× x + (2 x) × 1 + x + 1

 = 2 x² + 2 x + x + 1

 = 2 x² + 3 x + 1

professor wrote the following inequalities for N number of students in his lecture. N <10, N>10, N<22, N>22. Turns o
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

There are N students in the class.

We know that ONLY ONE of the inequalities is true:

N < 10

N > 10

N < 22

N > 22

We want only one of these four inequalities to be true.

Remember that if we have:

x > y

y is not a solution, because:

y > y is false.

Then:

If we take N = 10, then:

N < 22

Is the only true option.

While if we take N = 22

N > 10

is the only true option.

So there are two possible values of N.
