We can only answer this question if we know what shape you are talking about. Is this for a square, a triangle, or what?

You already know the perimeter, it's 18, but you need to find length and width
Perimeter is length + length + width + width, and you know the area which is length times width, so you need to find 2 numbers that multiple to 20 and see if they add up to 18.
Numbers that can multiple to 20 and 1 and 20, 2 and 10, 4 and 5.
If you use the formula for perimeter on 20 and 1 you get 42( 20+20+1+1=42)
,if you use it on 2 and 10 you get 24(10+10+2+2)
,and if you use it on 4 and 5 you get 18 (5+5+4+4),

bookstore ordered 1,528 packs of pens and 1,823 packs of pencils at the prices shown. how much did the bookstore spend on pens?
IgorC [24]
I found that the given prices are $ 4 per pack of pens and $ 3 per pack of penciles.

The question is how much the bookstore spent on pens.

Then you have to multiply the number packs of pens, which is 1,528, times the price per pack pens which is $ 4.

So, the answer is: 1528 packs of pens * $ 4 / pack of pens = $6112.

Answer:

20 inches x 26 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

set up an equation: (2x)(x+7)=520

now just solve it

2x^2+14x=520

x^2+7x-260 = 0

factor: (x-13)(x+20)

x = 13 and -20

13 is the only one that works because you can't have a negative side length

13+7=20

13*2=26

lmk if you don't understand how to solve that equation
