The answer is B. The type of variable of the season that you were born is qualitative and ordinal.

EXPLANATION

A qualitative variable refers to the categorical variable. This is the kind of variable which is not numerical. A qualitative variable describes data of words that can be fitted into categories. Usually, this kind of data is formed by words and not a number. A qualitative variable can be used to categorized things.

For example, a dog breed is a qualitative variable, so the data includes German Shepherd, Shih Tzu, Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Corgi, Poodle, etc. Other example is the zodiac that you were born, includes Gemini, Taurus, Aries, Capricorn, Leo, Virgo, and many other zodiacs.

The qualitative variable is different from the quantitative variable. The quantitative variable can be divided, multiplied, added, subtracted, because it is numerical, while the qualitative variable can’t.

Meanwhile, ordinal data is categorical data. This kind of data does exist on the ordinal scale. This data has natural categories and the distance between each category can’t be known. Therefore, the season when you were born is concluded as qualitative and ordinal data.

The example of seasons that you were born are autumn, spring, winter, and summer. These four data are categorical and not numerical. It can’t be multiplied, subtracted, divided, and added. Therefore, it is categorized as qualitative and ordinal data.
