General Prentiss was able to hold on to his position in the Hornet's Nest. Together with General William H.L. Wallace, they were able to reform and hold the lines against the Confederate attack. sold to the area to the Niagra Falls School Board for $1. A school and
about a 100 homes came up in the area. Later these chemicals started
coming to the surface due to heavy rains. This created permanent damage
to the people living there. Even the unborn children were also affected.
