P = a + s + c....a = 1st side, s = 2nd side, c = 3rd side
a = s - 5
c = a + 3......c = s - 5 + 3 = s - 2

so ur answer is : s - 2

X is the second side. Side 1 is s-5. side 3 is s-2 (s-5+3). They all must add up to 17. Well there is your answer right there. S-2

Triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle in which side
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

Option B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the below figure attached with this question.

It is given that triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle.

From the below figure it is clear that the vertices of triangle are A(-2,-4), B(2,-1) and C(3,-4).

Distance formula:

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Using this formula, we get

AB=\sqrt{(2-(-2))^2+(-1-(-4))^2}=\sqrt{16+9}=5

BC=\sqrt{(3-2)^2+(-4-(-1))^2}=\sqrt{1+9}=\sqrt{10}

AC=\sqrt{(3-(-2))^2+(-4-(-4))^2}=\sqrt{25}=5

Now,

Perimeter of triangle ABC = AB + BC + AC

                        =5+\sqrt{10}+5

                        =10+\sqrt{10}

So, perimeter of triangle ABC is 10+\sqrt{10} units.

Therefore, the correct option is B.

A bag contains blue and pink balls. There are 8 more blue balls than pink balls. Identify the expression that represents the pro
8_murik_8 [283]
Let
b---> the original amount of blue balls in the bag
p---> the original amount of pink balls in the bag

we know that
b=8+p
p=5
so
b=8+5----> b=13

step 1
Find the total of balls originally in the bag
total =13+5-----> 18

step 2
find <span>the probability that a person will pick a blue ball first
</span>Find P(b)
P (b)=13/18

step 3
Find the probability that a person will pick a pink ball second <span>without replacement
the total of balls now is (18-1)-------> 17
P(p)=5/17

step 4
Find </span><span>the probability that a person will pick a blue ball first and then a pink ball without replacement
</span>(13/18)*(5/17)-----> (13*5)/(18*17)------> 65/306-----> 0.21

the answer is
0.21
