P = a + s + c....a = 1st side, s = 2nd side, c = 3rd side
a = s - 5
c = a + 3......c = s - 5 + 3 = s - 2

so ur answer is : s - 2

X is the second side. Side 1 is s-5. side 3 is s-2 (s-5+3). They all must add up to 17. Well there is your answer right there. S-2

Consider randomly selecting a student at a large university. Let A be the event that the selected student has a Visa card, let B
wariber [46]

Answer:

a. 0.76

b. 0.23

c. 0.5

d. p(B/A) is the probability that given that a student has a visa card, they also have a master card

p(A/B) is the probability that given a student has a master card, they also have a visa card

e. 0.35

f. 0.31

Step-by-step explanation:

a. p(AUBUC)= P(A)+P(B)+P(C)-P(AnB)-P(AnC)-P(BnC)+P(AnBnC)

                    =0.6+0.4+0.2-0.3-0.11-0.1+0.07= 0.76

b. P(AnBnC')= P(AnB)-P(AnBnC)

                    =0.3-0.07= 0.23

c. P(B/A)= P(AnB)/P(A)

             =0.3/O.6= 0.5

e. P((AnB)/C))= P((AnB)nC)/P(C)

                     =P(AnBnC)/P(C)

                     =0.07/0.2= 0.35

f. P((AUB)/C)= P((AUB)nC)/P(C)

                    =(P(AnC) U P(BnC))/P(C)

                     =(0.11+0.1)/0.2

                     =0.21/0.2 = 0.31

Answer:

\frac{7}{8} \div \frac{1}{2} = \frac{7}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we are given four equations and we have to find the equation that gives the number of half inches that are in \frac{7}{8} inches.

To find how many half inches i.e. \frac{1}{2} inches are there in \frac{7}{8} inches we have to divide \frac{7}{8} by \frac{1}{2}.

So, the equation that will give the result is \frac{7}{8} \div \frac{1}{2} = \frac{7}{8} \times \frac{2}{1} = \frac{7}{4} (Answer)

Bob thought of an even and odd number, multiplies the numbers together, added 6, divided by 5, and subtracted 3 to give an answe
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

  7

Step-by-step explanation:

Working backward, we can find Bob's initial product.

We subtracted 3 to get 1, so we had 4.

We divided by 5 to get 4, so we had 20.

We added 6 to get 20, so we had 14

After Bob multiplied the two numbers together, he had 14. We know that 14 is the product of 2 and 7. The odd number is 7.
