Government regulation is an important part of American society today. This is due to the fact that the government makes laws regarding businesses. Many of these laws deal with safety conditions and the disposal of hazardous materials. Without government regulation and safety standards, businesses would have the freedom to get rid of potential dangerous materials wherever they saw fit. This could result in serious damage to the environment. This is why the government will get involved in the economy.

Legislative: Senate and House of Reps - this part is called congress. Congress makes our laws. Congress is divided in 2 parts; senate and house of reps. Senate is made up of 2 people from each state. House of reps get together and decide if the bills should become laws.
Judicial: Supreme court and lower courts - hear cases that pertain to issues related to the constitution. They are the highest court in the country.
