<span>The base of a solid is the circle x2 + y2 = 9. Cross sections of the solid perpendicular to the x-axis are equilateral triangles. What is the volume, in cubic units, of the solid?</span>
Each triangle has a base 2y. So, since the area of an equilateral triangle of side s is √3/4 s^2, our triangles have area.

√3/4 (9-x^2)

Now, all we have to do is sum up all the triangular plates of thickness dx, from -3<=x<=3. Or, because of symmetry, twice the volume for 0<=x<=3.

v = 2∫[0,3] √3/4 (9-x^2) dx

A parabola is graphed below.
Len [333]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a parabola in vertex form is

y = a(x - h)² + k

where (h, k) are the coordinates of the vertex and a is a multiplier

Here the vertex = (- 2, - 3 ) , then

y = a(x - (- 2))² - 3 , that is

y = a(x + 2)² - 3

To find a, substitute any point on the graph into the equation

Using the coordinates of the y- intercept (0, 5 )

5 = a(0 + 2)² - 3 ( add 3 to both sides )

8 = a(2)² = 4a ( divide both sides by 4 )

2 = a

y = 2(x + 2)² - 3 → B

(2 points) The least squares method requires that the variance σ2????σϵ2 of the error variable ????ϵ is a constant no matter wha
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

C. heteroscedasticity

Step-by-step explanation:

The  OLS regression assumption of error variance being constant irrespective of independent variables, is called Homoscedasticity.

Var (u | x) = σ^2 (u) ;

where u = error term, x = independent variable, σ^2 (u) = constant error variance

The violance of this assumption ie Var (u | x) is related to independent variable x, is called Heteroscedasticity.
