We know that
in a right triangle
(∝ + β)=90°-------> by complementary angles
so
sin ∝ = cos β
sin(7x - 15) = cos(3x + 5)
Let
∝=7x-15
β=3x+5

therefore

(7x-15)+(3x+5)=90 \\ 10x-10=90 \\ 10x=90+10 \\ x= \frac{100}{10}
x=10°

∝=7x-15-----------> ∝=7*10-15-------> ∝=55°
β=3x+5------------> β=3*10+5-------> β=35°

the answer is
 β=35°

Ok so cos(x) = sin(90-x) so using that you can get sin(7x-15) = sin(90-(3x+5)) so 7x-15 = -3x+85. 10x = 100 and x = 10. Use that to find the 2 angles are 55 and 35

The greater of two numbers is 5 more than the smaller. If the
xenn [34]

Answer:

First number = 4

Second number = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

If the first number = x, the second number = x + 5.

The calculation can be expressed as follows:

x + 2(x + 5) = 22

First, expand the bracket 2(x + 5):

x + 2x + 10 = 22

Combine like terms:

3x + 10 = 22

Subtract 10 from both sides:

3x = 12

Divide both sides by 3:

x = 4

First number = 4

Second number = 4 + 5 = 9

Natalie added 20 pieces of candy to a bowl. Two days later, half of the candy in the bowl is gone. If there are 14 pieces left i
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

8 pieces of candy

Step-by-step explanation:

Take the original amount of candy in the bowl to be x.

It says that 20 pieces of candy were added, therefore there are x+20 pieces of candy in the bowl.

Half of the candy is gone, therefore \frac{x+20}{2} pieces of candy are left in the bowl.

After half of the candy is gone, there are 14 pieces left, so we can say that \frac{x+20}{2} =14

Solve for x:

x+20 = 28

x=8
