Answer:

The answer is federalists

Explanation:

The federalists said: "An elective [monarchy] was not the government we fought for; but one in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among the several bodies of magistracy as that no one could transcend their legal limits without being effectually checked and restrained by the others."

Which statement describes the views of the Democratic-Republican Party?
Lostsunrise [7]

The correct answer is D. Powers not expressly given to the federal government belonged to the states.

The Democratic-Republican party was based on the ideas of several different individuals including Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. These men were in favor of a small central (aka federal) government. This shows that answer choices one and two are incorrect.

Along with this, the Democratic-Republicans believed that the state governments should have a significant amount of power. This is why these individuals believed that any power not given to the federal government should belong to the states.

The Freedmen's Bureau is MOST associated with which time period?
jekas [21]

Answer: The period of RECONSTRUCTION after the Civil War.

Context/detail:

The Freedmen's Bureau was established by Congress in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War. The aim of the Bureau was to provide assistance to former black slaves (as well as poor whites) in the South during the Reconstruction period. The Freedmen’s Bureau provided food and housing, established schools, and made medical and legal assistance available. There was an intention of settling former slaves on land confiscated or abandoned during the war, but that didn't materialize. Radical Republicans took over dominance in Congress and they determined that confiscated lands in the South should be returned to their original owners.
