Given :

Initial velocity , u = 15 m/s .

Final velocity , v = 30 m/s .

Distance travelled , d = 40 m .

Also , this body is uniformly accelerating .

To Find :

(a) What is the acceleration .

(b) How long does this take .

Solution :

Let , acceleration be a .

By , equation of motion :

v^2-u^2=2ad\\\\a=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2d}\\\\a=\dfrac{30^2-15^2}{2\times 40}\\\\a=8.44\ m/s^2

Also , by equation :

v=u+at\\\\t=\dfrac{v-u}{a}\\\\t=\dfrac{30-15}{8.44}\ s\\\\t=1.78\ s

Hence , this is the required solution .

Complete the following sentence with a power of ten greater than 1. A kilometer is times as large as a millimeter. Click on the
Gelneren [198K]

Answer:

A kilometer is 10⁶ times as large as a millimeter.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the metric system first we have: millimeter, centimeter, decimeter and meter. Each one of these is 10 times the other (1 centimeter is 10 millimeter, 1 decimeter is 10 centimeter, 1 meter is 10 decimeter). Therefore, 1 meter is 10x10x10 millimeter = 1 meter is 1000 millimeters.

But we know that 1 km is 1000 meters,

Therefore, 1 km = 1000 meter = 1, 000,000 milimeter = 10⁶ milimeter

So then, we have that 1 kilometer is 10⁶ as large as a milimeter.

you have a part time job. you work 3 hours on friday and 6 hours on saturday. you also receive an allowance of $20 per a week. y
klemol [59]
$92/week is the amount of money you gained from work combined with your $20/week allowance money.

92 - 20 = 72 (total money made per week subtract allowance money leaves money made from work)
Thus, you make $72/week at your part time job.

You work a total of 9 hours. (3hrs on Fri & 6hrs on Sat added together)
72/9 = 8 (total amount of money made divided by the 9 hrs you worked for - gives amount of money you make per hour)
Thus, you make $8/hr at your part time job.
