One possible equation for this quadratic would be

y=(x-4)²-1.  This is vertex form:  y=a(x-h)²+k, where (h, k) is the vertex.

However, this is not the only possible equation.  There could be multiple values for a, in front of the parentheses, that we don't know about from the information we are given.

We can also write this equation in standard form (y=ax²+bx+c).  First write the squared binomial as the product of two binomials:
y=(x-4)(x-4)-1

Multiply the binomials:
y=x*x-4*x-4*x-4(-4)-1
 = x²-4x-4x--16-1
 = x²-8x+16-1
 = x²-8x+15

Again, this would change depending on what the value of a is in the functoin.

Question:
Marina CMI [18]
Since 2x+y>4 you get y>4-2x. Then you draw the line y=4-2x then you are interested in everything above the line not including it since it is y>4-2x so it is a dashed line. You need to shade the side that satifies the inequality and since it is every pair (x,y) where y>4-2x, you need to shade everything above the line which is the side that does not include the origin. So the answer is C.

4. Kay and Allen sell cell phones. Last month Kay sold 17 more cell phones than Allen. Together they both sold 117 cell phones.
forsale [732]

Answer:

Allen sold 50 cell phones while Kay sold 67 cell phones.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of cell phones sold by Allen be x. This will imply that the number of cell phones sold by Kay is x + 17.

Furthermore, we are informed that together they sold a total of 117 cell phones. Therefore, we use the following equation to determine the number of cell phones sold by each;

x + x + 17 = 117

2x + 17 = 117

2x = 100

x = 50

Therefore, Allen sold 50 cell phones while Kay sold 67 cell phones.

Answer:

  • 924/5 ft/s
  • 369.6 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

126 mi/h = (126 mi)/(1 h)·(5280 ft)/(1 mi)·(1 h)/(3600 s) = (126·5280/3600) ft/s

126 mi/h = 184.8 ft/s = 924/5 ft/s

__

In 2 seconds, the parachutist falls ...

  (184.8 ft/s)·(2 s) = 369.6 ft

A survey 3,000 who bought a new car showed that 900 had problems. What is the relative frequency of the people that had problems
Anit [1.1K]

Answer:

30%

Step-by-step explanation:

Presuming that "survey 3,000" is the total and "900" is the factor who had problems then dividing the total amount by the amount of problems like equal the relative frequency of people that had problems

Math:

Amount of people you had problems / Amount of people who bought the new car.

900 / 3000 = 0.3

Now you need to multiply by 100% (because % in this case is a unit/measurement)

0.3 * 100% = 30%
