The arms race was where two ( or more ) nations competed to have increases in " person under arms " so like, if the ratio of one country was ( people with guns to people without ) 10 to 5, and the second country was 12 to 5, then the second country would win, so it is a race t see which country can attain the most power from the people kinda.

Hope this helps, if not, comment below please!!!!

Which of these was NOT a condition of the Missouri Compromise?
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:The provisions of the Missouri Compromise stated in part that Missouri would be admitted to the Union as a slave state.

Explanation:

The Missouri Compromise was a decision made in the United States in 1819 to admit the states of Missouri and Maine as members of the Union.

In 1819, the admission of the state of Missouri to the United States was on the agenda of the Senate. As there were equal numbers of representatives of slave and free states in the Senate, it was decided to reach a compromise in order to maintain the balance: two states were going to be adopted at the same time, one free and the other slave. In addition to slave Missouri, Maine, which did not allow slavery, became a member of the United States. The demarcation line for slavery was also determined, as slavery would be allowed only south of the 36º 30' north latitude (plus the state of Missouri, which was north of it).

Answer:

On September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks carried out against the United States would become the catalyst for at least two wars, dozens of new pieces of legislation, the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and a slew of court cases that would test the boundaries of the Constitution as the nation struggled to find a sense of safety in the post-9/11 world.

Here’s a look at some of the most impactful constitutional cases decided and questions that were posed as a result of 9/11 and the War on Terror.

Hamdi v. Rumsfeld (2004)

This Supreme Court case arose from the detainment of Yaser Hamdi, a U.S. citizen captured in Afghanistan by the U.S. military in 2001. He was declared to be an “enemy combatant” fighting for the Taliban and was sent to the military prison at Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detainment. When it was discovered that he was a U.S. citizen, he was transferred to a military prison in Virginia and his father petitioned the court for his release.
