Answer:

Redemption

Explanation:

The Southerners use the term redemption (redeemers) for the return of the white rule in the South after the Civil War in America. They were the Southern democrat's wing which was part of the democratic party in the South. Redeemers tried to recover their political power to control the South. They were also against the carpetbaggers, scalawags, and some of the Republican people who control the Reconstruction era which began in 1867-68.

John Cabot sailed the sea

His Italian name was Giovanni

He loved his son and King Henry

And sailed aboard the Matthew

On June 24, 1497

He saw some land that looked like heaven

Mistaking it for the Asians

He claimed the land for England

After John returned to England

He was very triumphant

He even asked for another voyage

Which was very courageous

For he didn’t know about his mysterious end

Yes yes yes yes that is true

He disappeared out of the blue

And no soul has ever lied

That no one knows how he died
