When Melba and the other eight students were getting racially discriminated the African American community showed their support by being generous and caring. They started sending gifts and started writing notes to Melba and the other students. These loving notes and gifts came from all parts of the country. Also, the African American community acted generously towards them by helping them and supporting them throughout the process.
