in what ways could montesquieu's argument for splitting the government in to 3 parts be seen as radical
EleoNora [17]

Montesquieu concluded that the best form of government was one in which the legislative, executive, and judicial branches were separate and kept each other in check so that no branch became too powerful.

The concept of dividing government power into three branches was dubbed "separation of powers" by Montesquieu.

He believed it was critical to establish separate branches of government with equal but distinct powers. In this manner, the government would avoid vesting too much power in a single person or group of people. According to Montesquieu, there are three types of governments: republican governments (which can be democratic or aristocratic), monarchies, and despotisms.

Montesquieu concluded that the best form of government was one in which the legislative, executive, and judicial branches were separate and kept each other in check so that no branch became too powerful.

How did President T. Roosevelt and President W. Wilson fix the problems created by industrialization?
nordsb [41]
They did it by introducing social policies and acts to stop monopolies. Not only did they limit the power of companies to prevent them from taking land from people or cheating them when making deals, they also implemented policies that made working conditions safer and increased the basic wages and helped unions as opposed to helping the companies.

What document includes the phrase "...to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers f
Tatiana [17]

This comes from the Declaration of Independence. It really is a summary of the outcome of the Magna Carta, the document in which King John agreed (a bit unwillingly) to get the consent of the nobility before imposing questionable taxes needed because King John fought unnecessary wars in the opinion of the barons. They were the ones who were going to fight the wars AND collect the taxes. Jefferson was merely restating the rights of those governed. As it turned out, he moved the Magna Carta into the American Constitution.
