206.25 - 2.75y + 2.25y = 188.25

206.25 - 0.5y = 188.25

Collect liketerms

0.5y = 206.25 - 188.25

0.5y = 18

Y = 18 / 0.5

Y = 36

Put y = 36 into equation (i)

X + 36 = 75

X = 39

Therefore the number of adult is 39 while that of children is 36.

if your quadratic function is in the form ax² + bx + c = y

x = \frac{-3}{2(1)}
x = \frac{-3}{2}

Now we plug this x into the equation and solve for y.

y = (\frac{-3}{2}) ^{2} + 3( \frac{-3}{2} ) + 4
y = \frac{9}{4} -  \frac{9}{2} + 4
y = \frac{9}{4} - \frac{18}{4} + 4
