All living cells is made up of genetic materials in form of DNA, which encodes all the information needed by the organism's cell to function. However, this information needs to be expressed. This expression is done in a two way process: transcription and translation.

The DNA is first transcibed by copying the information in the DNA molecule into a RNA molecule, specifically a mRNA (messenger RNA). This RNA is then translated in the ribosome into an amino acid sequence, which specifies proteins. This whole process is referred to as GENE EXPRESSION.

Hence, the order of genetic expression is from DNA to RNA to Protein.
