-3 - 24n = 23 +2n
-24n = 26 + 2n
-26n = 26

Multiply out.

-3*1 -3*8n = 23 + 2n

-3 - 24n = 23 + 2n             

Take all ns to one side and other numbers to other side.

-24n - 2n = 23 + 3

-26n = 26          Divide by -26

n = 26/-26

n = -1
