Only thing I can think of is:
They were running to the North where they would be free and they didn't pay taxes or have jobs so the government had way more people to support using less resources.

The effort needed by all sectors of a society during a conflict is called the Holocaust. total war. rationing. a skirmish.
babymother [125]
A Holocaust was the genocide on the Jewish population during the Second World War- not what the question is asking for.

Rationing refers to the division of goods among people - it can be during the time of conflict but it was also present during socialism

A skirmish is a short battle.

So the best answer is a total war: a war in which the whole society is involved and needs to give up on some things for the war effort!

Why do you think the Berbers resented being ruled by the Arabs, even though they had converted to their religion?
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

The Berbers resented being ruled by the Arabs because they decided not to quietly accept the domination of the Arabs. This is as a result of the ban on "Anciet Berber Poetry" which led to open revolt and riot in Kabyle in 1980 - 1981. The Berbers saw this as a suppression of their Berber culture and an attempt to efface the Berber historical memory. They could not take it any longer, so riot broke out.

Even when the Berbers were converted to Muslims, the Arabs treated them like second-class muslims and heavily taxed and even enslaved them. All these led to the resentment by the Berbers against the domination and rulership by the Arabs.

The correct option is option A.

Before 19th century, the Great Plains were not fit for cultivation and were termed as the “Great American Desert.” Droughts were common and followed by rainy spells. The sun along with wind would dry up surface’s moisture. In these plains, European windmills were also impractical. The new windmills were designed to help the settlers on the plains. These could efficiently pump water from underground at a steady rate and could shift into the prevailing winds and functioned well in fast and slow winds.
