When a person hyperventilates, their respiratory rate will be fast and deep breathing.

Explanation:

When a person hyperventilates, there is fast and deep breathing occurs which causes the body to lose carbon dioxide or CO2 and increase the amount of oxygen in the blood, so, that person will be able to hold breath longer, not as the same duration as the normal duration.

For maintaining steady respiration it is important that in an equilibrium what the body breathes in and breathes out. However, hyperventilation causes the disruption of this balance, trigger the individual to breathe out more than breaths in. A large portion loss of CO2 can cause tissues to begin malfunction.
