Time the -2 to p and -5 to get -2p+10+7p=-5
subtract the ten from both side getting -2p+7p=-15
if you add -2 to 7 it would be 5 getting 5p=-15
then you divide 5 from both sides getting p= -3
      p =-3 is the correct answer
