They were seeking to organize and advance the women's suffrage movement.

The national meeting in Seneca Falls, New York, in 1848, was the first women's rights convention to be held in the United States, and was organized by women. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was not only a key organizer along with Lucretia Mott. Stanton also was the lead author of an important document issued by what we now call the "Seneca Falls Convention." The Declaration of Sentiments was signed by 68 women and 32 men who had been among the participants in the convention. The document was modeled after Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence. In the way that Jefferson had listed grievances against the British monarchy, the Declaration of Sentiments listed grievances against how man had oppressed woman in regard to civil rights. Here's a small sample of some of the "sentiments" which were expressed:

The history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpation on the part of man toward woman, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over her. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world:

 • He has not ever permitted her to exercise her inalienable right to the elective franchise.
 • He has compelled her to submit to laws, in the formation of which she had no voice.
 • He has withheld her from rights which are given to the most ignorant and degraded men—both natives and foreigners.
 • Having deprived her of this first right as a citizen, the elective franchise, thereby leaving her without representation in the halls of legislation, he has oppressed her on all sides.

What specific foreign policy goals/initiatives did Candidate Trump run on and why did that resonate with his base.
Airida [17]

Answer:

Trump had several foreign policy initiatives that resonated with his base:

 • Renegotiating trade deals was perhaps his most important foreign policy platform. Trump ran a campaign against NAFTA, because of the adverse effects it had on American manufacturing and employment.
 • Being tougher on China was also an important Trump proposal. Trump accused China of currency manipulation and unfair trade practices like intellectual property theft. This resonated a lot with Trump's base.
 • Ending involvement in Syria was a third important Trump proposal. Trump, during the campaign, was against American intervention in the Syrian Civil War, and repeatedly said that American should work with Russia to end the war, instead of being Russia's adversary.

Why did hitler never attacked switzerland?
Natali5045456 [20]

There were many reasons for Hitler to not attack Switzerland, as the country did not have any natural resources which could have attracted Hitler. Another simple reason is that Hitler never felt the need to invade Switzerland as the whole point of attack could be to utilize the train lines, supply lines and other facilities to ease up the transportation of German army with which Switzerland never messed even during the war, German armies were passing through Switzerland freely, the famous stories are common about sealed rail cars passing through Italy to Germany. Switzerland played an almost neutral role during war which could also be a reason for their safe grounds.

Though Hitler had a plan to attack Switzerland called “Operation Tannenbaum”, which was cancelled later.

Describe how the Missouri Compromise was able to save the Union.
Anna35 [415]

Answer:

Though the Missouri Compromise managed to keep the peace—for the moment—it failed to resolve the pressing question of slavery and its place in the nation’s future. Southerners who opposed the Missouri Compromise did so because it set a precedent for Congress to make laws concerning slavery, while Northerners disliked the law because it meant slavery was expanded into new territory
