This is an equation.

<h2><em><u>Solution</u></em><em><u>:</u></em><em><u>-</u></em></h2>

\frac{3}{5} x+  \frac{1}{4} x = 34 \\ ⇒ \frac{15x + 5x}{20}  = 34 \\ ⇒ \frac{20x}{20}  = 34  \\ ⇒ x = 34

<em>Hence</em><em>,</em><em> </em><em>the</em><em> </em><em>value</em><em> </em><em>of</em><em> </em><em>x</em><em> </em><em>is</em><em> </em><em>34</em><em>.</em>

Answer:

+ 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x² + 2x = 9

To complete the square

add ( half the coefficient of the x- term )² to both sides

x² + 2(1)x + 1² = 9 + 1²

Write the standard form of the equation of the parabola with the given focus or directrix and
horsena [70]

Answer:

x = 1/20 y^2

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a rightward opening  (sideways ) parabola

Directrix = x = -5

Distance formula form point x,y  to directrix and focus are equal:

(x - -5)^2 = (x-5)^2 + y^2

x^2 + 10x + 25 = x^2 - 10x  + 25 + y^2

20x = y^2

x = 1/20 y^2

7. Write an equation for the line that is parallel to the given line and that passes through the given point.
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

C. y = 1/2x - 14

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the slope of the original line and use the point-slope formula  y − y 1 = m ( x − x 1 )  to find the line parallel to  y = 1 /2 x − 8 .

y = 1 /2 x − 14                              PARALLEL

...................................................................................................................................................

Find the negative reciprocal of the slope of the original line and use the point-slope formula  y − y 1 = m ( x − x 1 )  to find the line perpendicular to  y = 1 /2 x − 8 .

y = − 2 x − 29                               PERPENDICULAR

I need help with number 16 please and fast because it's due tomorrow. :)
solniwko [45]
Im gonna take an educated guess on this. for the first part only one element has an outershell filled completely. but if they want two elements put chlorine. to lose electrons is probably helium to gain is magnesium. and the last one is lithium and helium because they're small and don't have allot of atomic mass
