1. An ordered pair is a pair of numbers in parentheses, separated by a comma, which indicates the distance of a point from the origin. The first number represents the x-coordinate (where it is from side-to-side), and the second number represents the y-coordinate (where it is from up and down).

2. The four quadrants of the basic plane are listed in this order:

  II    |     I
        |
=========
        |
III    |    IV

A point in the first quadrant (I) could be (5, 10), since that means that you would be moving right 5 and up 10.

A point in the second quadrant (II) could be (-3, 6), since that means that you would be moving left 3 and up 6.

A point in the third quadrant (III) could be (-7, -1) since that means that you would be moving left 7 and down 1.

A point in the fourth quadrant (IV) could be (2, -6) since that means that you would be moving right 2 and down 6.

A point on the x-axis could be (9, 0) since that means that we are moving right 9 and making no vertical movement.

A point on the y-axis could be (0, 4), since that means that we are going up 4 and making no horizontal movement.

Hope that helped! =)

Find to the nearest tenth the radian meausure of 216 degrees.
cluponka [151]
There are 2 ways of measuring angle. It is either by radians or by degree. Radians is unitless or we just call it rad. A pi is equivalent to 180 degrees. A pi is equal to 3.14. So when we answer this we multiply 216 by pi/180 or 2pi/360. The answer is 3.7699 or 3.8 rad.

Which of the following does not describe a rigid motion transformation? A. translating a figure 2 units left. B. rotating a figu
Vilka [71]
Rigid motion is the way of moving an object such that after the motion the relative distance between the points stay the same in the same way that the relative position is the same. The answer to this question is dilating the figure by a scale factor of one half.
