 There will be a point where a certain value of x,  the number shoes sold, the cost of making the  sneakers will be the same as the income from  selling them.

Profit = y_i-y_c

At that point the profit will be zero.

The two slopes are the key features. If the slopes are different, the two linear function will intercept.
