Answer:

The number of clarinets musical store sold was 16. and number of trumpets musical store sold was 11.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the musical store sells 'x' number of trumpets and 'y' number of clarinets.

According to question,

Total number of  trumpets and clarinets sold is 27 that is

x+y=27 ..............(1)

Also given Trumpets cost $149 and clarinets cost $99.

then the shop sold x trumpets for $149x and sold y clarinets for $99y and total sales were $3233.

thus, 149x+99y=3233  ...........(2)

Solving for equation (1) and (2),

Multiply equation (1) by 149 , we get

(1) ⇒ 149x+149y=4023  ........(3)

Now, subtract equation (3) from equation (2) , we get

149x+149y-(149x+99y)=4023-3233

\Rightarrow 149x+149y-149x-99y=790

\Rightarrow 149y-99y=790

\Rightarrow 50y =790

\Rightarrow y =\frac{790}{50}=15.8

Thus, number of clarinets musical store sold was 15.8 but since clarinets are to be in whole number rounding off to the nearest integer 16.

and put y = 16 in (1) , we get

x+y=27 \Rightarrow x+16=27 \Rightarrow x=27-16=11

Thus, number of trumpets musical store sold was 11.

vovangra [49]

Answer:

A. n = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

S = n² + n

When S = 30:

                                                       n² + n = 30

Subtract 30 from both sides:  n² + n - 30 = 0

Factorize:                               (n - 5)(n + 6) = 0

Therefore                                                 n = 5 or -6

As n > 2, then n = 5 only

Construct the indicated confidence interval for the difference between the two population means. Assume that the two samples are
Kruka [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for determining the confidence interval for the difference of two population means is expressed as

Confidence interval = (x1 - x2) ± z√(s²/n1 + s2²/n2)

Where

x1 = sample mean of type A paint

x2 = sample mean of type B paint

s1 = sample standard deviation type A paint

s2 = sample standard for type B paint

n1 = number of samples of type A paint

n2 = number of samples of type B paint

From the information given,

x1 = 75.7

s1 = 4.5

n1 = 11

x2 = 64.3

s2 = 5.1

n2 = 9

x1 - x2 = 75.7 - 64.3 = 11.4

√(s1²/n1 + s2²/n2) = √(4.5²/11 + 5.1²/9) = √4.709

Degree of freedom = (n1 - 1) + (n2 - 1)

df = (11 - 1) + (9 - 1) = 18

For the 98% confidence interval, the z score from the t distribution table is 2.552

Margin of error = 2.552√4.709 = 5.55

The upper boundary for the confidence interval is

11.4 + 5.55 = 16.95 hours

The lower boundary for the confidence interval is

11.4 - 5.55 = 5.85 hours

The correct option is

B. 5.85 hrs < μ1 - μ2 < 16.95 hrs
