Answer:

Passive follower

Explanation:

Passive follower refers to the type of people who participate in a certain type of organization, but they never show any type of initiative or having any responsibilities within the organization.

In general, the existence of passive followers would not necessarily mean too much for the group and their power is extremely limited within the group.

Michael is a passive follower.

Passive followers don’t involve engage in active activities, that is, their participation in active engagement is very low. These set of followers are dependent, they don’t carry out activities on their own.

Further Explanation

Passive followers would rather do as they are told. They don’t always have a choice and don’t question their leaders.

Passive followers are also referred to as sheep because they always rely on their leaders before they act. They won’t take any step until they are instructed to do so.

In 1988, Robert E. Kelley proposed 5 types of followers and these include

 1. Effective
 2. Alienated
 3. Survivor
 4. Passive or sheep
 5. Conformist

The conformists are active followers and depend on their leader to direct them. They complied with their leader directives without questioning and they always avoid conflicts. The conformists’ followers are also called “Yes people”

Effective followers are very proactive and can think critically. They are always willing to learn and respect the command of their leaders

Survivor followers in nature are chameleonic; they align with everything and always play safe

Alienated followers: these types of followers think critically and are independent. They are disruptive and don’t offer to help their leaders even when they can do so.
