Answer:

162.12385 cubic inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming finding the area and circumference of the shaded area.

Triangle with 3 sides and 90 degrees on one side, we can use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the missing side.

Pythag. Theorem says

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

//a and b are the 2 small sides touching to the 90 degree angle

//^2 means squared, or the number multiplied by itself

(16)^2 +(30)^2 = c^2

16x16 + 30x30 = c^2

256 + 900 = c^2

1156 = c^2

Take the square root of both sides to get rid of (^2) from the right side of the equation.

sqrt(1156) = sqrt(c^2)

34 = c

So the longest side is 34 inches.

Coincidentally, this is the diameter of the Half Circle.

The radius = (diameter/2) = 34/2 = 16 inches

radius = 16 in.

Circumference of a Circle formula:

C = 2*pi*r; pi=3.14; r = radius

But this is a half circle, so C = pi*r = 3.14*16 = 50.2654

Now to find the area its a little more work.

Area of shaded part is equal to

Area of half circle   minus    area of triangle

Area of Circle: pi*r^2

-->since half circle: Area of half circle is: (pi*r^2)/2

Area of triangle: (base*height)/2: (16*30)/2

A of circle - A of triangle

(3.14*16^2)/2 - (16*30)/2

Area of shaded region = 162.12385

suppose the divisor and the dividend of a division problem are both fractions between 0 and 1, and the divisor is greater than t
Virty [35]

Divisor and Dividend are fractions lying between 0 and 1

Also, Divisor > Dividend

⇒ A smaller number is being divided by a larger number

Whenever a smaller number is divided by a larger number, the quotient is less than 1

E.g. Let divisor be \frac{4}{5} and dividend be \frac{2}{5}

\frac{4}{5} ÷ \frac{4}{5} = \frac{1}{2}, which is less than 1

Hence, the answer is that the quotient will be less than 1

Which value of x makes the equation 2/3x-3=11 true?
harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

x = 21

Step-by-step explanation:

To see for what value of x is the equation true, we have to solve x.

\displaystyle \frac{2}{3} x - 3 = 11\\\\Adding \ 3 \ to \ both \ sides\\\\\frac{2x}{3} = 11 + 3\\\\\frac{2x}{3} = 14\\\\Multiply \ 3 \ to \ both \ sides\\\\2x = 14 \times 3\\\\2x = 42 \\\\Divide\ both\ sides\ by\ 2\\\\x = 42/2\\\\x = 21\\\\For \ x = 21\ the \ given \ equation \ is \ true.\\\\\rule[225]{225}{2}

Hope this helped!

Trevon’s school is selling tickets to a fall musical. On the first day of ticket sales the school sold 13 adult tickets and 12 s
julsineya [31]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  • adult: $7
  • student: $10

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a and s represent the prices of adult and student tickets, respectively.

  13a +12s = 211 . . . . . . ticket sales the first day

  5a +3s = 65 . . . . . . . ticket sales the second day

Subtracting the first equation from 4 times the second gives ...

  4(5a +3s) -(13a +12s) = 4(65) -(211)

  7a = 49 . . . . . . . simplify

  a = 7 . . . . . . . divide by 7

  5(7) +3s = 65 . . . . substitute into the second equation

  3s = 30 . . . . . . . subtract 35

  s = 10 . . . . . . . divide by 3

The price of one adult ticket is $7; the price of one student ticket is $10.
