Answer:

Per minute value fee would be the slope of the line.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Per minute charges by the phone company = $ 0.50

Connection fee (fixed) charged by company = $ 1.0

We have to represent the total cost in terms of y and also explain the slope of the line.

According to the question:

Let the number of minutes be "x" .

And the total cost charged be "y" .

So,

The total cost = (No. of minutes)(Per minute charge) + Connection fee

Re-arranging in term of x and y.

⇒ total\ cost = (no.\ of\ minutes)(per\ minute\ charge) + connection\ fee

⇒ y=0.50(x)+1   ...equation (i)

Slope- intercept form: y=m(x) +b  m is the slope and b is the y-is   intercept.

⇒ Comparing equation (i) with the slope- intercept form.

⇒ m=0.50  and  b=1

So,

The slope of the line is 0.50 which is also represented by the per minute value of the call.

Per minute value fee would be the slope of the line.

Each packet of the cooking oil weighs 2/5th of a kilogram and one kilogram of the cooking oil costs $6.5. Sara went to the groce
Reika [66]

Answer:

C) $20.80

Step-by-step explanation:

1 kg of cooking oil = $6.5

1 packet of cooking oil =2/5 kg

If 1 kg of cooking oil = $6.5

2/5kg of cooking oil = $X

Cross Multiply

1kg × $X = 2/5kg × $6.5

$X = 13/5

$X = 2.6

Hence 2/5kg of oil cost $2.6

Since 1 packet of oil = 2/5kg of oil , 1 packet of oil cost $2.6

The amount she spent if she bought if she bought 8 packets of the cooking oil is calculated as:

1 packet of oil = $2.6

8 packets of oil =

$2.5 × 8

= $20.80

Therefore,if Sara bought 8 packets of oil, the amount she would spend = $20.80
